| How do I know what size stove I need?
One of the most important aspects in choosing a stove that appeals to you is making sure it provides the right level of heat output in relation to the room size.
As a guide to help you work out how much heat you are likely to require, to produce a comfortable room temperature (of around 70 degrees Fahrenheit) we have included the following calculation formula for you to use.
Length x Width x Height (Of Room In Metres) = 'Space In Cubic Metres'
'Space In Cubic Metres' divided by 14 = The heat output you require in kW.
Example Room; 6.5M x 4.5M x 2.4M = 70.2 Square Metres, divided by 14 = 5kW
Please remember that the number of doors, windows in a room will have a marginal effect so it is always better to slightly over estimate your requirements.
On hot water and central heating boilers, a proper survey should be carried out by a qualified heating engineer as there are many factors effecting the boilers performance. You will need to take in to account the capacity of your hot water storage tank and the pipe run required to link the system. Always seek professional advice before making a final decision.
